is absolutely shocking but I find when I do get it wrong that locals are very happy to correct me & help me out.They seemed please if you are at least trying or making an effort.

In answer to your question " Saya Tidak berbicara Bahasa Inggris" or alternatively " Saya Tidak mengerti" = I do not understand or " Saya Tidak mengerti Bahasa Inggris" = I do not understand English.

I bow to others who have better contol of the Indonesian grammar & will be more than happy to be corrected if I have it wrong.
