Several days ago I asked for opinions about Singapore Airline compared to Cathy Pacific. Most agreed that Singapore wins as far as service and amenities, I choose Cathy Pacific and here is why.
Singapore may be more posh, but Cathy Pacific flies direct from Hong Kong to Denpasar. Singapore goes by way of Singapore has a stop over and then flies to Denpasar. Even if you choose your routing through Seoul it goes to Singapore on the way to Bali C.P. saves me 1 hour flight time and 3 1/2 hour sitting around the airport time and one less flight to hassle. It also gets me to Bali at 2:30pm instead of 8:30pm. giving me a shot at catching the beach massage ladies before they leave their posts. On my return it gives me a forced overnite layover in Hong Kong and doesn't leave until 4:30pm. the next day. That gives us a chance to see Hong Kong while C.P. holds our baggage and we do not lose our 30kilo baggage allowance. Oh joy. That to me is worth the lack of luxury.
