There is a left luggage capacity at HK airport, as I used it last year when I had a 10 stopover on the way to Beijing. It is not totally unreasonable in price. Can't remember the cost, but for one bag, it was OK. There is an excellent train service which goes express into the Kowloon station from where you could get a taxi. The train station is right on the airport terminal. If you return the same day, they only charge you the one way fare. Another hotel to consider is the YMCA Salsbury. YMCA managed, but just like a hotel, and right next to the Star ferry. You will find it by doing a search on the internet.
