Was in bali for my partners first trip in Sept and he now has the bug. He decided in the first week he wanted to spend xmas in bali, absolutely fine by me, I was wrapped he loved it so much. Booking again for travel now on the 22 december to 28th dec, of course peak fares, does $1234 ea for six nights accommodation, fares, departure taxes sound okay, if anyone who has travelled at peak time could give me a good indication as we paid less than this in sept for 14 nights. and staying at Hotel Tjampuhan Ubud and puri raja. if anyone can tell me what Hotel Tjampuhan Ubud is like that would be good. How long for walking into town?? Know how great puri raja is. I would hate to pay today and find out there was a more interesting deal that came up although travel agent is flexible up until the tickets are issued in a few weeks.
Also does anyone know the contact of an aussie lady who will take you around all sorts of furniture shops, you pay there and she organizes pickups and freight, sounded like a very easy system. We tried a driver unsuccessfully as ended up at all his mates places and they were not what we were looking for.
Lastly this is my first forum entry after reading this website for over a year, I love the info you can pickup and it helped us last year on our girls trip and this year again with the other half and others in the team.
Places of interest was Belangel bay or Grasshopper bay, beach back from dreamland, might spend xmas day there. Suzys café does not look good but food fantastic. Pendang bai, very quiet but picturesque and the wee warungs with a very close sea view were awesome.
Have heard of magnum the driver and his nephew on this website and just happened to bump into him by chance, he is very recommended as mentioned and we shall use him again. A comical man who with my partners sense of humour had us roaring with laughter from the start of our trip in his vehicle to the end. We used him twice after that while in bali and will next time as well.
