While it is a bit of a walk into Ubud central, they have a fantastic FREE shuttle service (2 vans) that will take you in ANYTIME YOU want to, anywhere in Ubud, and then will pick you up when you ring them!!! I'd suggest getting the shuttle into town then walking back - a really pretty and pleasant walk. There is a money changer opposite and some shops close by though, then everything you need only a little further towards Ubud. The grounds are expansive and beautiful overlooking a river gorge. Our room was HUGE but so far from reception that even after 6 days we still took some wrong turns back to the room! My only complaint was NO FRIDGE, no T & C making facilities and no room service until 0730 - poor caffiene addicted sister was chomping at the bit to get to breakfast for a fix. Oh and pool lounges were limited (even without the lounge hogs) so we HAD to sit at the poolside bar one afternoon!
