I'm still going ... and even a day earlier! (changed FF flight via Singapore to direct flight now).

I can't tell you how hard this decision has been - have changed my mind a zillion times this week, but now that I know I am going, it feels so right, and I am starting to get excited again.

Basically, I always knew I wanted to go, but I decided I wouldn't do it without the support of my kids - I think it would have been selfish to leave them here worrying for almost 3 weeks.

My daughter said from the start to go, don't let the terrorists stop you doing something you really want to do. However, my 18yo son wasn't thrilled with the idea at first, but friends of his have also gone which I think made him think it might actually be okay, that it's not just his crazy mum wanting to go.

I have to say I am the luckiest person in the world - no matter what I do, my kids are always behind me. They take the time to really know me, and know what is important to me. In this case, they understand my need to go, to visit my sponsor child, and to move forward with my intentions to support the Balinese people in whatever small way I can, now and in the future. At this stage they are even thinking about coming with me in March next year, to help distribute the teddy bears I am collecting at one of the orphanges.

To all those still struggling with the decision of whether or not to go, just tune in to what your gut feeling is. You can try to rationale this situation until the cows come home, and it wont change a thing (it just made me crazy!). There is just no way to know when, where, how or what the next act of terrorism will be. You just have to do what feels right for you at a gut level. Good luck and very best wishes whatever you decide.

Kindest regards to all.

Jo
