I can totally relate to you both. We decided to go, but I had similar reservations at first. The big relief for me was my family asking me when I was going, as if it was a totally natural thing. This forum also helped heaps, it reminded me of my last trip there and my trip from the airport. It was my 1st time in Bali and a year after the 2002 bombing. As the taxi drove from the airport I realised how vast the shopping/accomodation/places to eat are in Bali and that with care I could avoid dangerous situations. I immediately began to relax and had a wonderful holiday. I'm sure it will be the same again, and now that I've got to that point I'm looking forward to the holiday even more, so I can explore some of the wonderful places I've heard people talk about on here
