I honestly think you just want people to tell you you're right in still going,..... well you'll get plenty her that will do that.
It your choice,.. and I must say going for the first time and at a time like this basing you decision on what strangers on a forum which in general is filled with the majority that promote Bali, is rather strange,.
I will however put some facts that you should be aware of,.. the Governments of various countries have been warning for sometime of possible terrorist attacks and not to travel to places like Bali that warning still stands.
I know many ex pats still living in Bali but while some are staying some have decided to pack up and come home,....even some Balinese that are married to Australians are coming back to Australia,..... now that's only some so again decision are being made both ways
Regardless of where you stay in bali,.. targets are where tourist are,.... so no place safer than another,.... other than some hotels maybe safer than others if you're spending all your holiday at a hotel.
If you intend of enjoying the nightlife of Bali outside your hotel of course you would be in the higher risk areas,.... all the attacks have targeted these places
The time of your travel Dec 1 well that's a very quiet time tourist wise in Bali normally so even without the threat of more attacks Bali in general and the streets would be quiet.
Again the decision is yours,.. if you decide to go I wish you a safe trip.
