island bound

we were booked to fly out 22nd oct but want to cancel. There are six of us and we stand to loose nearly 3thousand dollars half of what we paid. WE booked through island bound and were flying out of port hedland. How can it be fair that we loose such alarge amount of our money. How can we make a stand surely we are not the only ones?
