Go on your holiday if you must but don't expect it to be like any previous trip. The laughing, singing, dancing and smiling faces will be in short supply.
I was in Bali 1 week after the previous attack and a fun holiday destination it certainly was not. If you have been to the memorial site then imaginge that atmosphere hanging over the whole of Bali all the time, sad, stunned people everywhere you go. And even worse some openly sneering and laughing faces with god knows what in their hearts.
Still if you are an emergency worker, social worker, counsuler or just that way inclined you may have an even more satisfying trip.
Personally I will be back as usual there is no surprise in any of this for me. My thoughts of a 'Magical Island paradise' were quickly dispelled at knife point over 25 years ago on my very first visit.
I doubt I will take my family with me next time or ever again however that will be their decision.
