For all of you who are asking is Bali safe?
The answer is no, this is the second time I have witnessed the bombing in Bali; I have lived here for nearly 5 years.
For months there has been a very uneasy feeling in Kuta, tourists would probably have not noticed it.
There are more and more people from Java here now and that makes a big difference on the views of the local towards westerners.
Think about it, must of the time you come in contact with the locals is when your buying stuff - then you see a warm friendly side, its not you its your money !
Yes, there are many very wonderful people here in Bali and Java for that matter but the people who do this come from very poor towns were there are religious school preaching hatred towards westerners. There very under educated and very poor, the easiest of people to recruit.
Terrorism will never win it will simply only periodically inconvenience the western world, as for Bali my sympathy is with all the good people who will now suffer terrible hardships, like they did after the first bombing - this time it will be much harder as people will now acknowledge the fact this was not a once of act in paradise but the harsh reality of a world wide problem.
As in all cases of terrorism the innocent suffers! I am closing my business here in Bali and leaving the island - an island I have called home for a very long time, it has been a privilege to leave here, but the truth has again so violently been displayed.
A sad day indeed.
