I flew out of Melb. airport too (don't you think that is as much of a target?). Everthing we do has risks attatched. It is upto the individual to minimise the risk. Don't for one moment think that this won't happen in Aus. I hate to think when or where it will happen cause the causualties will be horrific. Any place that has a huge number of people is a target. It is up to the individual whether they want to take that risk. Do I risk going to Kuta? No.
Do I risk going to Bali? Yes. But I will enjoy my holiday knowing I will minimize risks as much as poss. So long as you live & breathe you are vunerable. Life certainly does not give any guarentees on safety or otherwise. It all comes down to the choices you make. Some have high risks & some much lower. I certainly don't need phone Mr. Downer just to tell him that people should think more carefully about going to the Kuta area should they decide to go to Bali.
