So here we are Saturday morning......
Teenage boys are keen for a surf out the front of the Kumala Pantai and daughter wants to body board so Dad of boys and I decide we'll sit on the sun lounges and watch them.Great idea except for the hawkers !!Sorry if I offend anyone but they were shockers.We found it really hard to just watch the kids and try to relax.I wouldn't bother going to the beach at all if it wasnt for her surfing.I was persuaded to buy 3 pr of sunnies $2.85 each but then got abused by this guy cause I had said no to him and apparently the one I bought them off wasnt from this area of the beach !!?? How I was supposed to know that I'm not sure but anyway he just went on and on and wouldnt go away till my mate said right go now and then he still had a go at him.Really unpleasant !! Surfing over and kids back to the pool.I walked up to Legian st between Rum Jungle and Padma to a little shoe shop where I had seen some beaded thongs that had a small heel.I got two pair for $12.85 each.I didnt see many with the heel and they are really nice.Also got 2 pr of earings $9.30 each from Anoa Silver on Legian St.Walked back to "wayan and friends "where I had Mie Goreng and a lemon juice YUMMY.Got back to hotel and daughter and I went to the supermarket near the Bintang for some more supplies.We have discovered a taste for "hello Panda's" YUMMY.Got lots of packets to take home for the neighbourhood kids!!
Back to rest and swim and finish my book...god i love holidays !! especially Bali. Later we headed off with the other girls down to Surfer Girl.Daughter got Roxy thongs for $12.15 which was great as she's size 10 and very hard to get her size shoes that she likes !!I got a black narrow aBillabong belt for $22.15.
We went back to Nero's tonight, daughter got pizza and I had a chicken breast fillet with lemon and fresh coriander YUMMO.Not sure of the cost here but the food and staff are lovely.
On the way home we grabbed $42.85 of DVD's.Not that good a range I didnt think compared to other trips but maybe its just me.Came home for a swim and sleep !!
Sunday......
Daughter and I walked out the front of the hotel as far right as we could go till the road ran out and it turned to beach.Had planned to see if we could get to Gado Gado but we decided against it once we hit the beach and it was warming up.AND we're off to Waterbom today...its a must I'm afraid.
Had a great time as always and i'm very proud to say I did the "smash down" TWICE !!! Never done anything so brave I dont think and daughter wouldnt do it !!It was so much fun really but so SCARY too.Came back in the afternoon and went to the Melasti Spa where dauhghter got her hair braided ( no beads on her request ) and then we both had manicures with the obligatry flowers painted on.Nice and relaxing and air conditioned too.I think it cost abot $30 for hair and both nails.It was getting late by the time we got out of there so we headed straight back to get ready and went down to Pappa's restaurant for tea.This was very nice food and atmosphere but quite pricey.I wanted to get to Poco Loco as I have been every time I have been to Bali (and I love Mexican too ) but some of the group dont like mex so I had to give in. (another next time !!)We walked along the beach road till we hit the Niksoma and then cut through to walk back to our hotel.
Monday....our last day !!
Hardly any cash left now so I decide all I needed was a few watches and a little more silver.( I always get to this point and worry I dont have enough gifts for my friends back home and then try to sort out some sort of list of who gets what !!??TOO HARD ) .Got a bit of silver from Solomon Silver in Rum Jungle rd which has a good range and can be bought wholesale if you buy 10 or more pieces of one thing.I didnt have the cash for that so paid retail price which was still good and saved bargaining !! Grabbed a few watches from Jln Padma Utara "Top Shop" across from the Jayakarta.They had a very good range.I think I paid about $6.50 for some Paul frank ones and a couple of the silver bracelet type ones.

BUT daughter had been asking to have a temp tattoo done and I said she could get it done last day in case she had a reaction we would be on our way home and it wouldnt spoil our holiday !!So I thought she'd forget but oh no- down to the beach we go and she draws some symbol from a band called HYMN ??Its a triangle with a heart over the top.Anyway after a litle bargaining (remember I am broke ) she gets it done for 20.000 $2.85.She is very happy.
We race back for me to shower again and last minute pack into two cases and a duffle bag.Try to contact our friend Rico but cant get him so grab Dino off the beach and he comes to get us at 3 to go to the airport.Oops forgot to say I had taken a taxi early this mornoing to AWA Natural to pick up my blinds and cushions.Unfortunately Lestari has made a mistake and edged my large blind in natural instead of black but I am not too worried.The poor taxi driver is though when we have to fit it in his little car but it goes in no worries.
Back to Dino and he packs us up and off we go- SOB SOB- farewell to our friends who still have another 6 days ( lucky sods ).Get to airport having had no lunch and on a serious budget I find $20 aussie and get it changed so we can eat.Daughter has disgusting ham and cheese jaffle ( her words ) and I have ayam soto.YUM. Last year I had lovely sushi but couldnt find the shop and the only Japanese is v.expensive.We treat ourselves to ice creams as well and wait to go home.NO delays this time .The flight is good ,service great as always except they somehow missed us when serving dinner and I had to ask for our food ( two rows ) I got a row of 3 seats all to myself which was great.Into Perth on time and then the customs bit.....will leave that to the next one and do a brief summary then too....Thanks again for reading..........
