Food in Hand luggage?

So CLB you actually took food in you hand luggage?

I was wanting to keepsome food ie a sandwich in my hand luggage.... would I be allowed?

I can't always eat the food on planes, it makes me feel sick and I don't want to get low blood sugar ( I sometimes get hypoglycaemic)when standing in the line at Denpasar airport
