I must have hit the 'bad days' flying with AP on the 14th of march and again on the 25th.
The 14th of march had us arriving 6 hours late in denpasar with no compensation whatsoever. Instead of a direct flight from sydney we got routed to melbourne for 4.5 hours and well, the whole thing was a nightmare. No real explanation, we had to gather that from the passengers. Because of the unscheduled flight the airport had no food and we received no food from 9am until 430pm. The KIDS MEALS didnt get brought out until an hour after all the adult ones were packed away. (545pm).And that was after us asking the stewards at least 3 times if our daughter could get some food too. (To get their attention we had to grab them as they walked past as the 4 times we turned on our light, it was never answered and turned off automatically after some time).On every other airline, kids meals have always been brought out first. Our stroller was never present at any transit gate. And on the way home, they managed to lose our stroller all together.
One more point that highlights their unprofessionalism in my book...was, on the way from sydney to melbourne (unscheduled) we didnt get told we were going to melbourne until we stepped into the plane when the guy said 'free seating to melbourne, sit anywhere you want'. Obviously, with this happening, there was no 2 or 3 seats together and their stewards actually suggested that our 2 year old daughter sit with strangers. I was obviously pregnant as well...and the fact that they would seriously suggest this, disgusts me.
I had heard good things about them previously and I was looking forward to travelling with them, but I can safely say that we will never travel with them again. I can also say that while we were in bali, at least 75% of the people we met that travelled with AP, were not happy.
I guess we must have picked a bad time of year or something. However, the food was fine (although late) and the movies were good too.
