and I will stay at both again HOWEVER as a single traveller myself for last 2 trips I found the tegal sari better ( easier to meet people due to set up of cafe/ resturuant which was ideal for sitting, chatting amd mixing , whereas at HMGH you get meals served in your rooms or outside on verandah which tended to isolate you unless you went down to the pool area)
Give TS a try - Im sure you'll like it - just hitch a ride up to HMGH for the cooking class on the day.
