Hi Everyone,
I'm Camille, 22, from the UK. In May I am heading off on a four month trip travelling around Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. My rough itinerary so far is:
Month 1: Fly to Bali with my friend Leanne, spend a few days here to relax, then head back to Kuala Lumpur with Airaisa to see more of Malaysia.
Month 2: Leanne leaves. Meeting my friend Dave in KL. We are planning to head back to Indonesia and travel through the islands East of Bali (probably as far as Flores) for a month.
Month 3: Dave is going back to the UK so I want to spend this month on my own in Bali, basically just chilling out and spending time with locals there that I have made on previous visits to Bali.
Month 4: Uncertain yet, but my friend Lucy will be joining me so we might spend this month in Thailand.
So, as you can see, the middle two months of my trip will be spent in Indonesia. I have thought about leaving the country half way through the 2 months to renew my visa, but it would be a lot less hassle if I could obtain a 60 day tourist Visa.
My question is, if i apply for the Visa before I go, how does it work? Do I have a certain amount of time to use the Visa? Will it come into action as soon as I get to Bali (not very useful, as Leanne and I am spending a few days there at the start of our trip)? Should I apply for my 60 day Visa in my first month away whilst in Malaysia instead? If this is what I have to do, how do I go about it? It is just complicated because the 60 days that I want to spend in Indonesia are right in the middle of my trip.
Thanks very much for any advice - it will be really appreciated!
Camille
