Sanur has shopping and restaurants, same as Kuta, but just not right on top of each other, like Kuta. We always stay at the Griya Santrian, it's a tad more affordable than the Puri (it's sister hotel) at US$45 per night for a standard garden room. Of course, that all depends on whether you want to spend money on accommodation or on shopping and food and Bintangs! (LOL).
Do an archive search of "Griya Santrian" and you'll get all the information you need. We're going in May, staying for 15 nights and paying for 8, thanks to the Griya's bonus night program. Don't know if this applies to school holiday periods. When are you going?
Whatever you decide, you'll have a wonderful time. Enjoy, and have a Bintang for us. We have to wait another 10 weeks.
