Staying at Sanur ?

In the past we've always stayed in the Kuta / Legian / Jimbaran Bay area. Wondering if we should try Sanur ? We are a family of 2 adults and 2 13yr old twin girls. Like the shopping etc in Kuta but also like some peace and quite.

So the questions are :-
1. How does Sanur compare to Kuta, ie shopping, restaurants etc
2. How far from Kuta and what would the cost of a cab be ?
3. Suggested hotels ? We'd prefer something not too big. Currently thinking Griya Santrian or Puri Santrian. Would like something near the water.
