My wife and myself spent 8 nights here in late November, early December, 2004. We paid 77US$ per night for the room, with buffet breakfast thrown in, no transfers. The breakfast was excellent. But, the room was, frankly, disappointing.
Since we haven't stayed at any other hotel in Bali, we cannot compare DKP with other hotels in Bali. But, I can say this much categorically.
Every single hotel we stayed in, in Bangkok, Pattaya, Chiang Mai, Singapore, KL, Hong Kong, etc in the last 9 months, was DEFINITELY better VALUE FOR MONEY than the DKP, Bali.
We were looking at the following...1) Quality of room...size, facilities, view, etc 2) Service, in general 3) Location 4) Restaurants 5) And, ofcourse, PRICE.
DKP scored 5/10, in our estimation. Meritus Negara, just off Orchard Road in Singapore scored 8/10.
Can you imagine that a large hotel like the DKP (with over 300 rooms) has ONLY one lift/elevator ???? Which works haphazardly ???
We shall definitely attempt to stay at some other hotel on our next visit to Bali, whenever that is. There are some very good suggestions on this site from people like Rex. Thanks very much.
