room River 3. I have stayed there a number of times. Closest room to the smaller pool under the cliff, which is the one I prefer, but screened from the pool by greenery. The balcony is set higher than the path going past and is virtually private. Beautiful view across the gorge to the well vegetated cliff on the other side. Trees, bushes, flowers, birds, butterflies and agile little squirrels scampering about just a few metres from your balcony.

In regard to restaurants, what is your definition of "best"? I've never eaten in any of the "expensive" restaurants in Bali. [Unless you count La Lucciola years ago when it wasn't expensive, but in my opinion more welcoming and entertaining.]

Murni's Warung is worth a look and only 5 minutes interesting walk from the Tjampuhan. http://www.murnis.com/warung/warung.htm

The endless buffet breakfasts at the Tjampuhan are very pleasant and filling and eaten in a delightful setting.
