Your observations regarding this forum and the majority of Aussies here are absolutely true.
Yes, indeed there are not very much people from other parts of the world here.
But the forumities here couldn't care less about this, we have here some circles of people in several parts of Australia, all more or less tied to Bali and most of them know each other since years.
They share activities on Bali or at home, we have the Perth fraction, the Sydney fraction, the Adelaide fraction, did I forgot something ?
Well, all these people are so tolerant toward any other point of view, as long its an Australian point of view of course, every opinion is free, but don't dare to criticise anything here !!!
Yes, it has become an Aussie forum and you don't seem to be the only one who feels displaced here.
You got an example here in this thread.
There is somebody mentioning a Indian restaurant on Bali, and there is somebody living in India curious about the food they offer there, a discussion about curries came up.
Then this guy (living in India) has the impertinence to dare to ask quite politely about these meals, the experiences of the people and even what was offered.
I would be pleased to get some first hand information, but no, what is he told ( probably the only one who has really a clue of the matter ), his information is not required, the best Indian food is served in WA, wow, that's really an impressive example of ignorance.
Its like somebody had a Pizza at Pizza Hut and thinks to have an idea about Italian kitchen.
There have been some people on this board, who were not members of one of this Australian circles, lots of them have been gone, whenever somebody has the slightest touch of critics to anybody out of one of this circles, one of the defenders of only true Bali-lovers will stand up trying to make you look like an insane aggressor.
You are right Carlos, it sucks!
It is always amazing, how almost every topic posted by an outsider can cause an annoying discussion, far off the track of the original posting.
We had a good example not long ago here and we had many of these examples.
Obviously some of the posters here need this private intimacy, maybe they would not trust to post otherwise, maybe some of them could worry to receive some embarrassing comments, I think they have all reasons to worry though.

Its has a historical importance, it doesn't sound good to my ears, even not in English.
