I know you said that India is a mess, but things can't be so bad that Fosters seems drinkable. I know that in the ads they try to pretend it's the great Australian beer, but I can tell you that virtually no-one here drinks it. A lot of pubs don't even stock it. We just send it overseas and let other people deal with it. I have a theory that at the CUB (Carlton United Breweries) factory, they let the workers drink as much Victoria Bitter and Carlton Draught as they like, and then they all pee into a vat and let it brew for a few weeks, bottle it, and whack on a Fosters label. Export quality, they boast. Yep... no bugger here will touch it.
