Exchange rate for TC's and Cash

Is anyone in Bali at the moment that can tell me the difference in exchange rate btw cash and TC's. I have been reading on the BTF that cash is much to take than TC's but I'm a litte nervous about taking cash just in case it gets stolen or lost. To avoid all hastles I was only going to exchange my TC's at the hotel. Does anyone know whether I'll get charged commission for this and whether the rate will be vastly different to cash?
