from 14 days there. It was fine as a family hotel to stay and it was handy to restaurants etc but I don't think we'll stay there next year when we go. We stayed in the new section on the ground floor rooms near the pool. Our rooms were clean and spacious but not a lot more than that. The kids could be kids and having fun was allowed. We walked up to the Jayakarta and we were staying at Club Bali Suites 20months ago and it looked alot cleaner this time round.
I like their pool set up better than the Melasti and the big pool at the Melasti looked as if you would catch something if you dived it. You could not see the bottom for the fogginess. I have my own pool at home and would be horrified if it looked a quarter as bad!! But the circular pool was great and our kids loved that one.
The staff were great especially Aru on reception she was terrific and so was Agung from the laundry. All the staff were very friendly sometimes they might look serious, but if you smile they will certainly smile back.
Also had two facials and a massage from the spa - they great, but the first facial was loads better than the second. It depends on who you get. The massage was great.
A warning on the temporary tattoos - my son has had a terrible reaction to one and it has been weeping etc, a visit to the doctor as well! So hati hati (careful careful).
Would recommend the Bamboo Hut just near the entrance of the Melasti for a very cold bintang and a cheap decent meal, they will even do take away at lunch if you need it - Made the barman there was just great, entertaining as well as having a great memory for anyone who had been there more than once!
We ate at many places close by and shopped until we couldn't!
We have a great 14 days and are looking forward to next time.
