Hi, we just got back from satying there and apart from brekkie (included), never ate at hotel. We would walk onto beach, turn left (facing ocean) and go straight to the 15 or so warungs right next door. Try mama donnys, made's warung (great spring rolls and satay) and menega for seafood.
Also discovered just on out last couple of days, there is a hotel across the road called Royal Bali Beach Club which you would think by looking at it has expensive food etc, but if you walk in straight past reception out to the pool area, there is a little cafe / bar area there and they have a great menu at very cheap prices (brekkie lunch or dinner). Guests from other hotels more than welcome.
As the last person said though, it's only a cheap taxi ride from kuta area so we just go in there for dinner most nights anyway...
Have fun, it's a great place to stay. If you have any more q's feel free to ask.
