Some 12 years ago, my wife was one of those "trainees," a five year graduate of the tourism school in Nusa Dua. At that time, it was about the best advanced educational opportunities for Balinese within Bali, that existed. She has often told me stories, just like the one you told, of her first "contact" with a "Tamu," in such a way, I could compare to contact with ET... the extra-terrestrial.
My wife has come a whole long way from that first "contact" and it pleases me to no end to read to your post, that others continue to follow. So nice of you to not only understand the situation, but to enjoy it too. If it was up to me to award gold stars for great posts, you'd get five out of a possible three. Selamat, and Matur Suksma!
