Obviously, you have no clue about the hotel business. The 4 hotels in Pemuteran are not able to charge "what they want" for many reasons. There is obviously a direct correlation between the standing of a hotel and the price it may charge. Otherwise, you'll be out of business fast, even if you were the ONLY hotel in the area.
I know for a fact that if you showed up at Taman Sari today, with no reservation, you could not get a room whatever you offered. And you would not be offered a room at inflated prices, because there none available.
By the way, I wonder how you could have formed an opinion about the different types of rooms at Taman Sari, since the place is fully booked, and the staff would not show you a room that is occupied.
For more than twelve years, we have been protecting this area from wild developments, so that it does not turn into another Lovina. We have been quite successful in preserving the environment. Among some of our achievements, are: stopping the dynamiting of the reefs and the use of cyanide: establishing a ratio of buildings to open spaces for any project; promoting a maximum usage of natural products or biodegradable cleaning products; employing a large number of local people in our establishment (almost 40%, which is very important in this very poor are of Bali,) in order th e"share the wealth"; modestly regenerating the reef (the project started 2 years ago; establishing the "turtle project," etc. So luckily, homestays are not and will not be in the foreseable future of Pemuteran.
