is just that...my opinion from a visitors/tourists point of view.
I made no claim to knowing anything about the hotel business.

I think you may have misunderstood my comments somewhat.
I didn't mean to imply they were overcharging for what they provided.
I did mean however that they didn't really need to negotiate as there were not that many hotels to choose from and of course they were pretty full.

I also thought the Taman Sari Bali suite that I looked at for the price had some furnishings that looked a bit drab.
I also wasn't prepared to pay $102 US for it where others might.
Personal choice.
I formed an opinion on the room I looked at, the grounds & overall feel...including staff attitude.

I also don't like bigger spread out hotels (as both were that I saw) even though the grounds were lovely.
So they didn't appeal to me.
That's not to say they wont appeal to others.
Once again personal choice.
I also found the staff less than friendly than at the smaller homestay.

Am well of what is going on in that area and so sorry my comment re homestays got up your arse. I too would not like to see it look like/ become like Lovina but it was nice to have the homestay price option available.
Our purpose there was a short stay, on a budget, to see a friend's family and learn about the area...not loll about in luxury on a bale in a suite, so I had no intention of wasting money doing so...it went to the village.

I apologise for perhaps my poor wording of what I actually meant.
I don't apologise for my opinion or my feelings as to how I saw things.

When you dismount from your pedestal, extract whatever is lodged up your arse, make sure you enjoy your day.
