Just returned from 8 days in Kuta/Tuban. After taking on board all the different views and warnings regarding Bali ,I hate to say the place is a dump. What is so great about being harrassed continuely for the time who are walking around. You can say NO THANKYOU for s small time before you become agitated. How can you walk being polite and looking at the footpath for holes,ditches and open sewer drains. Plate your hair,plate your hair, using kids as tools for asking for money and then refusing coins. Massage Massage ,piss off
leave me alone.
This crap about doing it tough is crap. Hotel workers get about 350000 per month, these street workers (massage, drivers,etc) can earn a very good living per day and enjoy life ,as they do.
The place is putrid , unhealthy and infested with desease.
For those who havent been STAY AWAY, GO SOMEWHERE THATS NICE AND BE ABLE TO RELAX AND NOT BE HASSLED.
The place is corrupted and sadly deserves everything it gets.
