A quote that I heard from someone that might be helpful to put things in perspective for you -
"If you want a home away from home; stay at home"
I thought Bali was a fantastic experience despite some of the negative aspects you mentioned. I just hope your comments haven't convinced someone not to go and experience it for themselves.
