Bali is a beautiful place, with beautiful people and wonderful culture.
Money is the ultimate evil that leads to the destruction of culture.
If they people are happy as they are, let them be, the more you tip, the more as humans, they want. Sooner than you expected, Bali will become a place where money talks most.
What has the devaluation of the rupiah to do with tipping? The cost of living between 2 places is different, are you trying to bridge that difference?
While I support the locals but sometimes buying unneccessary things, I do not tip in Bali unlike in other place. That's the fastest way to make Bali too commercialised.
And be careful with taxi drivers. They always expect more and keep your change ready. The NEVER have change.
