Swimming ?

Can someone clarify something for me as I am a bit confused. I understand that the beaches and water in Bali are polluted. (I am soooo disappointed) So my dream to sit on the beach and swim in the ocean are out !!! NO ONE swims in the ocean...there is NOOO unpoluted water to swim in.
