Having flown to Bali with Qantas, I found the return arrangements awful - leaving after midnight, and hanging around in Darwin awaiting another flight is a real negative after a great trip. I can't get too excited about the arrival arrangements either. However, at least we had Ubud, Lombok and the Gili's ahead of us......
Seems to me (and I could be wrong) that generally there are three groupings from Australia;
Perth goes direct
Sydney/Melbourne is often direct but can involve Darwin
Adelaide (where I am) and Brisbane invariably go via Darwin.
My post invites;
1) Comments on the vaious airline options
2) How seasoned travellers (like LarryfromAUS) arrange their travel to Bali (package or direct, and through whom).....
This may seem like a rerun to some, but a search of the forum hasn't produced very many helpful results.......It's odd, but having travelled a lot, including ocean yacht trips, high altitude himalayan trekking and motorcycling throughout Australia and Europe, sorting out a Bali flight arrangement has really got me stumped!!!!
I'd appreciate a few old hands showing me the ropes.....I also note that prices have jumped for after March travel, but not as much as was mooted.
Thanks,
Bruce
P.S. I read all the hoo-hah re Mark and the anti-semetic messages, I was too gob-smacked to post, thanks to those that replied so eloquently and said it all... and thanks to the administrators for bothering to carry on - sometimes it can all get too hard!!!!
