First, let me say I am really impressed with all of the comments I have heard about Wayan, he sounds marvellous. I definitely want to hire him for our trip to Bali, but I am not sure that he is able to work in the way I am planning our itinerary. I am hoping someone who knows how he works can shed light on this for me. Here's my question:
I am planning a round Bali trip, meaning after spending a few days in Ubud, I would like to travel north, stop for a few hours/lunch in the Bedugal area to visit the lake and the temple, and then carry on to Lovina and stay overnight there. Then from Lovina I would like to drive east around the coast to the Tulamben area, do a few hours of beach snorkelling and stay overnight there. Then I would like to drive in the direction of Candidasa, visit the water temples, and then visit the mother temple at Besakih. And then the next day finish up in Pandang Bai to take the ferry to Lombok.
If I want to hire Wayan for this journey, and need his services for, say, four or five days, what does he do each night when he drops us off at our hotel? I mean, we're talking all the way to the north of bali, then all the way to the east. Does he stay in the area too, or does he drive all the way back to his home, presumably near Denpasar -- surely not, that would be a terrible amount of road time for him. So how does this work, and how does it affect his price? Is there a different solution that would be better for this sort of thing? although I have my heart set on touring with Wayan now. I really appreciate your help -- thanks in advance!!!
