Thank you so verrrryyyy much for your posting. It was extremely detailed, which is what we like. I have just printed it so I can make my own set of notes. I liked your attitude. Some people get so caught up on things being cheap in foreign countries, that they lose some other "values". It was nice to read that you were willing to pay a little extra or not haggle over a $1, especially when you know that most of those people are in such need. After all, back home you would easily have spent it on a cup of coffee or a bag of chips, right?
I'm leaving for Bali next week with my husband, and we plan to go to Lombok as well. We thought we would only go for one day. Then we decided we better stay for the night, so we would kind of have two days. In your opinion, is there enough time to leave Bali, spend a day on Lombok (probably doing something similar to your Day 3), spend the night somewhere on Lombok, go over to one of the Gili Isles for the day, and be back to Bali that night? You seen to have had an OK time with boats leaving on time. Others on this forum have indicated that they have spent hours and hours waiting around. With our tight schedule, we wouldn't be able to do everything we hope to, if we were to lose that much time.
Were you happy with your choice to go to Gili Meno? I have heard that there are tons of mozzies, and after reading your experience, it looks like you have confirmed that! Others have suggested Gili Air. Feedback would be great.

P.S. I thought it was kind of funny and slightly peculiar that you always had pizza for dinner. Not exactly what they would be good at cooking. Maybe this is why they "sucked". As I haven't been to Bali yet, I don't know what the food is like. But I love various Indonesian foods that we can buy here. Not your style?
