Great read & it did grab m attention that you stayed at the Bali Mandira which I am highly considering.
It's been more than 8 yrs since I was in Bali & I was not in the Legian area at that time.
* Is there a mini mart close by to the Mandira?
* Did you feel relatively safe going out shopping on your own?
*Exact location of Ketuts fixed price store? Do you have to ask for fixed price?
I want to go on my own, but I have freaked myself out by researching too much & reading posts about that transvestite mugger in Legian :(
