Up early and decided not to walk due to hilly terrain and need to find a shop for milk.
Did just that and was able to use the Nespresso machine I just happened to have with me.
A relaxing morning by the private pool overlooking the Lombok Straits with many local boats going about their business and huge bulk sand carriers on the horizon taking sand to make Bali bigger.
Midday, it was off on the bike to an excellent warung for chicken sate and watch a guy drilling a bore through rock for a bore.
Afternoon, rode to the "Japanese wreck" and sat under the tyrees having a cold beer.
Watching the snorkelers hovering over the "wreck" for a couple of minutes and then moving on tells its story.
However, it was a place with plenty happening, a nice breeze and cold beer so all good.
Tonight meal was at Sails.
The current owner (Peters wife) is currently in Auckland and leaves the running to Anil, ex manager from Bayu so many years ago.
Clearly she is trusted and doing a great job there.
The meals were excellent, pricing as expected and location/outlook world class.
I was lucky to see one of the outriggers with some tourists aboard snag something of significant size with a lot of splashing and dark shape pout of the water.
The catch was lost however, likely outsizing the rig that was set up, but it was good to see anyway.
The Amed coastal strip is a wonderful place and worth a couple of days or more for anyone enjoying spectacular scenery, locals who are passionate about their area and many quality villas, homestays and resorts.
Tomorrow I will tackle the return journey, likely departing north, out to Tirta Ganga and through Amlapura again.
Hopefully, Jack will be waiting!
