This subject is such a personal one but I understand you're looking for some options for you to spend a month each year in Bali when you retire. As we're retirees we are able to go to Bali every year; sometimes twice a year. Usually stay for three weeks but for a month occasionally. We spread this time over several locations; Sanur, Ubud, Seminyak these days. Our cost for our upcoming month is approximately $1600 (29 days). All very pleasant 3 star accommodation have breakfast included and a swimming pool. I prefer not to cook when on holidays and we enjoy dining out and currently our expenditure for meals and beverages is approximately $60 per day for the two of us. Love Bali. Good luck.
