After being dragged around temples, spas and boutiques for a decade, I figure it's time my husband got the Balinese holiday of his dreams. And sadly, that means GOLF.

It seems the Pan Pacific Nirwana or New Kuta Golf are the best options, but I really need the forum's help on accommodation because we want to stay close to a golf course but don't know either area.

We don't like big, chaotic resorts - we prefer smaller, quiet, traditional boutique-type places. A small villa is fine too. We also like to be able to walk - or get a taxi - to a range of good restaurants. We don't ride bikes.

It seems there's nothing close to the Tanah Lot golf course except the actual Pan Pacific Resort, which doesn't really appeal. Jimbaran Bay could be an option to be close to New Kuta golf course, but can you walk or taxi to the beach and/or restaurants in that area or do you really need a bike?

We've stayed in Nusa Dua before and found it sterile and lacking good restaurants.

Help!
