massive traffic congestion is putting it mildly. As mentioned, java almost closes down as everyone, whole families plus grandma plus the 4WD come to Bali for a bout a week. The year I was there I was staying at the Kuta Paradiso (the travel agent then did not know about Idul Fitri) and there were so many guests they had to open the ballroom for extra breakfast seating. It was quicker to walk to legian than catch a taxi and the trip from the airport was bumper to bumper. Mind you some days now in Kuta the traffic is just as bad.
