why is that so many people going to and from Bali want to cheat the system, be it baggage or alcohol? I have know of friends who have had heavy statues in their hand luggage. What happens if the door suddenly opens and a bag falls out? Airasia have started to weigh hand luggage both at Perth and Bali. Garuda have been known to off load luggage so that they can carry extra fuel in winter in case they are diverted from Perth because of fog. As you explained only 'x' amount of weight can be carried. Unfortunately pauljen all this falls in deaf ears. Cheers, Stormy
