was he went to draw money from the ATM and a message came up saying that his card has been de-activated and to contact this number. The number was indonesian and when he contacted them they said it had nothing to do with them and that he had to contact Australia and provided him with that number.
When he contacted CBA they said that his card had been skimmed from the ATM machine in Jl Padma Utara & that although no money was stolen, his card was immediately de-activated and would take 3 weeks to replace and until then the only way he could access his money was to do online transfer into someone elses account. They also stated that it had happened to quite a few people and that he wasnt the only one.
He lives in Bali and uses this ATM machine all the time and has been doing so for the past 5 years, he didn't notice anything different with the machine and this is the first time anything like this has happened to him.
I always use the one on the corner of melasti street as they have security there 24/7 and is at least a deterrant for those nasty people who like to robb the innocent.
