Café Havanna and Siam Sally have very good bands plus good food - if you can get accommodation near Monkey Forest Rd, it is easy walking.

Lots to see and do. Well, do is to see. Great massage places everywhere.

Check Green School - might need to book - but well worth it.

Lots of cafes, lots of places of interest.

I have stayed at Amaris Hotel Legian and JOCS Boutique Hotel & Spa Legian for around AU$ 30 per night including breaky. Good, clean and central. But as you said $10. So that might be stretching it.

There is a Dutch guy, married to an Indonesian Lady, who have a place which is clean and maybe $10 a night. it is just down, Gang Abdi, Padma Utara, just north of Melasti, first on right, 20m in from road. Cheap but good food as well. Very friendly, safe and central. Expats visit from time to time. I have no contact numbers but others might.

Have a goody
