Left Perth mid morning Valentine's day for 14 days.
AA left early but after we started descending it seemed to take ages.
then discovered we went wide over Lombok then lembogan to miss the volcanic ash. Still landed on time.
Our last trip was October so did not expect much change. The biggest I have noted is Bintang and cans of coke at the various supermarkets. Used to be able to get a small Bintang at Carrefour for about 13,500rp, now 18,600. 330ml can of coke now 6,900rp that is more than a supermarket at home for a bigger can.
Most other shopping items may be up a little but not much.
The streets are quiet and Legian street easy to negotiate.
Been to most shopping centres to escape the rain and topped up the cases.
Exchange rate has been between 10,400 and 10,650 for AUD all the week.
Eaten at many places including Tubes, moo moo's, Kuta steak house, bamboo and rendezvous sports bar. Most disappointing was bamboo for the quality. If you pay a good price you expect good food. Steak was tough and dry.
Went for a proper remedial massage at Llhaksmi. Absolutely great. going back for a tune up next week. He knows his trade.
Had our driver take us out, Bintang supermarket, Rimo Mall, Ramayama. Tira dewata Depenso hardware, and ended up at the Ducks Nuts for a very late lunch- top meal.
Lippo mall still needs a lot more shops filled. Main tennant still Hypermart. Topped up my phone Sims at Discovery Mall top floor. Basic charge. no extras. Had a couple of foot massages at Kimberly Spa.
No matter how many times one visits there is always construction underway. dodging the construction, motorbikes on the footpaths and time share part of the experience.
Well that was 7 days. Day 8 a day tour on a Harley style trike. You will have to wait for my JBR for that. Great
