WWWW2 is not boutique-ey or sophisticated, but is comfortable. (Don't expect 4 or 5 star). The pool is lovely and well kept - being in it looking out to sea is peaceful. In fact the whole place is peaceful. We take books (though they do have wifi) and find we doze (outside our room or in the open air restaurant) and just gaze out to sea a lot instead of reading. We notice young couples find it romantic, families love the pool for the kids, and older people like the laid-back atmosphere. The staff are not in-your-face like other places. They know people go there to relax so they try not to intrude, but are happy to get you anything, answer questions, arrange diving and transport etc if you just ask. Some staff like to chat and some are just plain shy. They all live nearby and many have worked there for a long time.
The restaurant cooks good tasty meals - their barbecue fish with rice and veges is my favourite meal, with a choice of sauces. What to do there? Relax. Or book snorkelling trips. If you like exercise you can go for walks in the cool of the morning or evening. It gets hot very quickly though. I like to walk the few kms along and down the hill to the little village of Bunutan, but walking back I am glad of my hat, sunblock and my latest brainwave - a sun umbrella. Walking the other direction you go past a little store for tourists, other hotels and eating places, and the road around the coast.

For something different, if you are early risers and really want to see a small town morning market you could arrange to go to Culik, the nearest town. I like seeing how Balinese really live and work rather than the tourist facade and often I am the only tourist wandering the stalls. I usually buy a bit of fruit but there is not much else I would use so it is more just looking around.

At WWWW the massage ladies come and sit on the beach or the beach platform cushions in the afternoon waiting for customers. This is their livelihood and how they support their families. They charge about 80,000 for about an hour and do a good basic massage beachside, poolside or at your room. I love to doze on cushions looking out to sea, a soft breeze over my skin as strong hands ripple down my back, sometimes with the soft chatter of the ladies in the background as they catch up on news with each other.
Some of the fishermen who meander past along the beach will try to engage you in conversation from the beach (not allowed in the grounds) and sell you small painted models of the jukung boats.

We usually stay in Room 1 beside the beach because we love to wake to the sound of the waves, and sit looking out to sea as we eat our breakfast. We like the quirkiness of variable water temperature later in the morning, the one-way window by the shower so you can look out at the sea as you wash, and the 10cm long blue lizard with brown freckles that visits on the walls from time to time. Room 2 beside it and a bit closer to the restaurant is nice too, also beachside, and with a nicer bathroom. The rooms further uphill away from the beach are a bit cheaper.

There are a couple of negatives that might matter to some people. There are no fridges in the rooms (not sure if that is because power supply could not cope)and I found my ipad would not recharge from the power supply (maybe the voltage there is too low) but I did drain it reading e-books. Some people also talk about mosquitoes but there are nets, and plug-in deterrent gadgets. I don't find them more prolific there than anywhere else in Bali, but I do spray/lotion myself morning and night and use a plug-in gadget with odourless pads in it each night that I bought at a store years ago there every day in Bali. The safe in our room did not lock with a code, but they pointed out that we could lock it with the safe key that was on the room key ring.

They have their own facebook page. Best just to email or ring them to book. I noticed they are not 'connected' to Booking.com so it shows them as 'not available' whatever dates you put in but that is not correct, they do have vacancies.
