Snorkelling is literally walking from the beach in front of the pool into the sea. There are snorkelling and scuba diving trips further along the coast that can be organised - which I have never done. I am happy enough with the sea beside the hotel. My husband sits on the balcony of our room with a cold Bintang and keeps an eye on me drifting about in the water.
I posted a bit more detail further down in this thread, under the heading 'besotted' - because visiting the fishes is always a highlight.
