We purchased the ebay deal a few years ago ( 99cents back then, yep 99cents), bit apprehensive at the time ( time share and all that crud), but we were more than happy staying there, great waterfront location, we had an upstairs room which we didn't have any complaints about....only had one meal there (dinner and show)as food as usual in a hotel was expensive (ioho)...plenty of great eating places not that far away, our favourite was Balissa which overlooks the Lagoon.
Our time share spiel, was answering a few questions over a coffee and being told "ts is not for you"...We only stayed four days (wanted to get back to family in Tuban)but did some touring, headed back to the Kuta area via the mountains and Mother Temple.....great place to be based if you had your own vehicle, plenty to see in the area.
For the ebay price, I don't think that you could go wrong...7 nights ocean front for $99 ( transfers included at the moment I see), really don't see a problem with buying your own water, and if you've seen what you want to see in a couple of days, leave.
