Have you thought about what activities you will do that will be suitable for your son? I am traveling with my 50 yo brother in June and whilst he does not have autism, he does have an intellectual disability and hemiplegia. We go each year to Bali and he enjoys it greatly however we tend to do the same old things, which include a lot of sitting around in cafes and restaurants or lying by the pool at the hotel. He likes to watch DVD's and TV however I do feel guilty because he could do that all these things at home. We did go to Lembongan a couple of years ago however he struggled with walking and even just getting on and off the boat although once on board, he loved the trip. We will get a driver for a day and do a trip up past Ubud but need ideas for the other 5 days.

A couple of years ago we stayed at the Besakih (Sanur) which has a great pool and we managed to get two bungalows with adjoining rooms which was great - both had privacy but we were just on the other side of the door in case he needed us. It is an OK hotel. Last year we were at the Gardenia (Sanur) also with adjoining rooms however the pool was tiny and he did not want to try it. This year we are going to try the Mentari also in Sanur.

I'd love to hear if you have ideas for activities.
