Both of us have had travelled regularly to Bali for >25 times each. We have also travelled to other regions of S.E. Asia over the years. Being associated with the Medical profession we were aware of the illnesses and diseases that you can be exposed to when travelling overseas.
We attended our Travel Bug Clinic (North Adelaide), for advice and recommendations from the Doctor. After our consultation, we elected to have the following; Hep A, Hep B, Typhoid and Rabies. (Diphtheria, Tetanus and Whooping cough we'd previously had years ago in Oz), and Influenza. Whilst many will say we have been "over the top" with our vaccinations - and some weren't cheap - I'm very happy to report that we have never had any issues with our health whilst travelling through S.E. Asia, including Bali and associated farmlands and remote villages. Many people (travellers),hop on a plane and travel regularly to Bali with scant regard for the potential health threats that can be found there - depending where you go. Remember, Australia for all its faults has a great health care system and health standards. The same unfortunately cannot be said for our S.E. Asian neighbours. Its our vaccination story, hope this helps.
We consider the money well spent, as peace of mind also adds a lot to successful overseas holidays.
